Miners Association of Nigeria Profile​

The Miners Association of Nigeria (MAN) is a National Industry Association whose diverse membership includes entities and individuals that are directly involved in mineral resources exploration and exploitation in Nigeria. Miners Association membership, which is about 3000, comprises of exploration, quarry, and mining companies. It also encompasses services and Consultancy firms that relate to mining sector.

At inception in 1944, the Association was called the Association of African Miners and it was meant to protect the interest of the African mine workers. Later in its history after the independence, it transmuted into an association of Nigerian Mine Owners which later changed its name to Miners Association of Nigeria in 1993. It is the umbrella body of all other trade and industry associations in the mining industry.

Mission: To move mining activities to greater height in which operators would be empowered to mine with ease for the betterment of mining industry, wealth creation, and employment generation in Nigeria.

Vision:  To positively engage the Government to provide enabling environment for mining activities to strive.

Administration

MAN is the only business association in the mining industry that is well structured to capture all categories of miners in Nigeria. Gem Stones Entrepreneur Association of Nigeria, Dimension Stones Association of Nigeria, and Association of Miners and Processors of Barite, are all members of MAN.  The Association is governed by elected executives of eight officers with the following offices:-

  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Assistant Secretary
  • Financial Secretary
  • Public Relation Officer

Miners Association of Nigeria is also made up of thirty two State chapters including Federal Capital Territory.

LEADERS AND ADMINISTRATORS

DELE AYANLEKE

Dele Ayanleke, born a little over six decades ago, is a native of Komu in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, Nigeria.

He holds a Higher Diploma in Marketing from The Polytechnic, Ibadan and a Master of Business Administration degree from University of Ilorin.

He had held several operative and managerial positions in some organizations before his foray into the mining industry in December, 1999.

He is, currently, the Director of Operations of Topmost Minerals and Allied Resources Limited, an indigenous outfit steadily creating a niche for itself in the solid minerals exploration, exploitation and marketing.

He was the National Secretary of Miners Association of Nigeria since June, 2014 before he was elected the National President on 3rd August, 2023.

‘Dele Ayanleke is married and the marriage is blessed with children.

TOPE ADEBANJO

Tope Adebanjo, a seasoned mining professional with over 20 years of experience, is the Pioneer Managing Director of Botta-Cup Ventures Limited, a mining company.

He is also the Principal Partner of Tasaree International Limited, a Project Management Company specializing in Solid Minerals.

Tope’s extensive minig expertise spans accross Nigeria and other countries, and he is actively involved in industry events, seminars, and training sessions.

Additionally, he founded the Laurel School of Mines, the first indeginous development and training center for mining in Nigeria.

Tope is a registered member of Various international organizations, including the Certified Materials for Professionals, (CMP), the International Project Management Association (IPMA), and the San Diego Mineral and Gem Society (SD-MGS).

SULAIMAN LIMAN

He holds an MBA and a Fellow of Institute certified Public Accountant of Nigeria(FCIPA) MD/CEO A.D.Monument Coy Nig Ltd , a company registered with MAN and engaging in mining activities along the value chain especially buying and selling .

Fellow Institute of Industrialist and Corporate Administrators of Nigeria, former Chairman Miners Association of Nigeria( MAN) Niger State Chapter and currently National Secretary Miners Association of Nigeria ( MAN).

JIMOH FATAI KOLAWALE

Currently the Public relations Officer of Miners Association of Nigeria – Passionate at Taking Mining to a greater Heights in Nigeria.

Jimoh is an Experience Mining Engrs with over 20 Years Experience.
He is a PhD student of the Federal University of Technology Akure, Ondo State.

Currently – CEO , Hnf Global Resources Ltd, C.O.O Fanalou Nig co Ltd, Makana Co Ltd, and Jedith Swiss Marble.

He is a registered member of Nigeria Society of Mining Engrs, Nigeria Society of Mining and Geologist and Council of Mining Engrs and Geoscientist

He is an Entrepreneur and Researcher

ARZUKA SULEIMAN

Arzuka Suleiman, an administrator by profession, a miner by practice with a wealth of experience in both industrial and precious minerals. He was born into a mining family at a  mining settlement ( Bisichi ) in Plateau state.

He is one of the directors of Three Crowns Mines Limited and Sky Blue Mines Resources Limited, one of the leading companies in Lead, Zinc, Lithium and other industrial and precious minerals in the country.

Presently in partnership with Kaduna Mining Development Company. Is also an owner of the biggest Lithium mines operating in Kebbi state.

Arzuka’s mining activities also extended to other African Countries with licenses to possess and purchase Diamond and  Gold in Central African Republic and Cameroon, Lead and Zinc site in Elmiki, Agadez, Niger Republic.

Arzuka is presently the National Treasurer of the Miner’s Association of Nigeria.

HON. IBRAHIM MOHAMMED DANYARO

Hon. Ibrahim Mohammed Danyaro, born in Sokoto State on December 24, 1965, is a versatile individual.

A former teacher turned entrepreneur, he’s actively involved in politics and the mining industry. He held various political positions, including local government Chairman in 1999.

Danyaro owns businesses supplying resources to BUA Cement and is a key figure in mining cooperative societies.

Currently, he serves as the 1st Vice-President of the Miners Association of Nigeria and was appointed Sole Administrator of Sokoto South Local Government, showcasing his commitment to community service.

ALHAJI SANI SHEHU

Alhaji Sani Shehu hails from Toro Local Government of Bauchi state, Nigeria. He attended university of jos for his under graduate and post graduate studies.Â

He did his NYSC in the former Anambra state in 1991. He worked with Azigbo Brothers Mining Company,as Tin Shade Manager in 1993 but resigned in 1996 to form his company-MAILALLE NIG LTD. The company is now into gold exploration and marble quarrying.

Sani Shehu has been deeply involved in Nigerian Mining Reform Initiative. He is CEO Mailalle Nig Ltd ,former Board member NEITI .Former member, minerals Implementation Strategic Team[ of Nigeria MIST]Former Member,Road map Drafting Committee of Nigerian mining sector.Â

Former member Solid Minerals Development Fund of Nigeria . An Alumni Gemological Institute of America GIA .Immediate past president,Miners Association of Nigeria .Currently. SHEHU ADAMU DINAWA

Shehu Adamu Dinawa, born in Zamfara State to the late Alhaji Adamu Muhammad Dinawa, is a versatile professional with expertise in leadership, civil society organizations, mining, and agriculture.

He has held various roles in both the public and private sectors, demonstrating over 15 years of experience in mining.

Currently serving as the Assistant Secretary for the Miners Association of Nigeria, Shehu is affiliated with professional organizations and has undergone training in areas such as HIV/AIDS prevention and leadership in reproductive health.

His passion lies in national development, mining, agriculture, good governance, and empowerment for youth and women.
